Chief John Momoh has been appointed as the Acting Pro Chancellor of the University of Lagos. This appointment came some hours after the Senate of the University elected the Acting Vice Chancellor.
Chief Momoh is the Presidemt of Unilag Alumni association. He is the Chairman and chief executive of Channels Television. Chief Momoh has been a member of the council for some time. He has been on the council as the representative of the alumni association.
His appointment came a few days after Dr. Babalakin (SAN), the former Pro Chancellor was asked to stay clear of he activities of the University of Lagos by the Federal Government. this is due to the crisis of interest between him and the University’s Vice chancellor who was asked to step aside too. John Momoh is to preside at the meetings of council for now.
The Registrar was copied in the appointment of Chief John Momoh. It is hoped that the University will settle down for research, teaching and community service for which it is know.
