This is the yuletide season and today is Christmas. It is December 25. Wow! What a date! What a day! It’s a good day to eat some rice with chicken. It is a day to look up and thank God in preparation for the incoming new year 2021. Tomorrow is boxing day. Please don’t box anyone just take out a gift for some folks.
The fourth Thursday in November showcased the thanksgiving period in the United States. It was a time for turkey eating and turkey sharing. Thanksgiving is a federal holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States.. Outside the United States, it is sometimes referred to as American Thanksgiving to distinguish it from the Canadian holiday of the same name and related celebrations in other regions. It began as a harvest festival and day of thanksgiving, with the theme of the holiday centered on giving thanks and the centerpiece of Thanksgiving celebrations remaining a Thanksgiving dinner.
Thanksgiving continues during this Christmas and then into January and throughout the new year. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord. It is also a good thing to give thanks to people who have helped us at one time or the other. The Lord has used some individuals to bless our lives and we need to thank them now.
How do we thank them? How do we show gratitude? We can thank them with our substance and our prayers. We can thank our benefactors with our presence in their houses during this period. We can show gratitude through phone calls and text messages. All these gestures will go a long way to encourage our benefactors to do more for us. It will also make them happy.
