Mr. Wale Babalakin has resigned his position as the Pro Chancellor of the University of Lagos. His resignation came in on a day the committee set up by the federal government submitted its report to the FG.
Reason for his resignation is unclear but it may be linked to what he may think will be the report of the special visitation panel set up by the federal government some 3 weeks ago.
Babalakin was in a fracas with the Vice Chancellor of the university of Lagos which lead to the sack of the VC. The VC’s sack was seen by many as not following due process.
All the 4 staff unions at Unilag initially opposed the removal of the VC, Prof. Ogundipe. With time, other unions opted out of the jointly signed agreed opposition and went on to support Babalakin’s moves with the exception of ASUU.
What’s going to happen now? What did the special visitation panel find out?
